Crisis Intervention

Living In Balance Recovery Services LLC, is now partnered with The Crisis Team here in Milwaukee. Crisis intervention in substance use disorder (SUD) involves immediate, short-term care aimed at addressing the acute psychological, emotional, and sometimes physical distress caused by substance use or its related consequences. The primary goal is to stabilize the individual, manage any immediate risks to health or safety, and connect them with appropriate long-term support services, such as detoxification, rehabilitation, or counseling. Crisis interventions often focus on harm reduction, de-escalation, and emotional support, utilizing techniques such as active listening and motivational interviewing to foster trust and encourage positive change. Given the complexities of SUD, these interventions must be delivered with sensitivity, empathy, and an understanding of both the medical and psychological factors involved.
