Families & Children Education
The Families and Children Services is for Mothers Who, Have Had Their Children Taken Away Due to Substance Use disorder. We provide vital support to help mothers rebuild their lives, and work toward reunification with their children. These services are designed to address both the emotional and practical challenges that come with substance use recovery and the legal process of regaining custody.
Key services typically include parenting education programs, which teach essential skills for creating a safe and nurturing home environment, as well as substance abuse treatment tailored to the unique needs of mothers. These programs often include individual counseling, group therapy, and case management to ensure comprehensive support.
Additionally, family reunification services work to bridge the gap between mothers and their children by offering supervised visitation, family therapy, and legal advocacy to help mothers navigate the child welfare system. Mothers are also supported in developing stable housing, financial security, and a sober lifestyle, which are critical factors in regaining custody.
Trauma-informed care is a key component, recognizing the significant impact of both substance use and child removal on a mother’s mental health and well-being. These services aim to empower mothers, helping them to break the cycle of addiction, heal from trauma, and ultimately reunite with their children in a healthy, supportive environment.
